Laland Baptiste provided office engineering and site representation services for the Backfill Renovation Project at John Jay College. The Backfill Renovation Project encompassed approximately 55,000 square feet of interior space and the removal and replacement of approximately 10 mechanical rooms. This project also included the extension of two chilled water main lines that connected to new mechanical units. Construction was performed during the partial occupancy of the building. The complex work of this project triggered an extensive amount of:

  • Mechanical/ Electrical/ Plumbing work
  • Structural work
  • Architectural work

This involved developing processes to ensure the project scope was achieved, monitoring the overall project budget, and overseeing the bidding process, project closeout, and turnover. We attended all pre-construction and construction meetings and reviewed plans and specifications to ensure construction was proceeding as designed. We observed and inspected the construction work to document and resolve project issues on site conditions, ensure quality and safety, and maintain the project’s schedule and budget.
