100 Centre Street – Sidewalk Stabilization and Cooling Tower Project – New York, New York

This 21-story criminal court building included the removal of spray ponds from the mechanical levels, removal/replacement of the primary condenser water pumps, and installation of cell towers and the stabilization of subsurface conditions with the installation of new sidewalk slabs. In addition, work also included the infill of block walls at stairways, plaster and painting. Site Representation and Inspection services were provided to install a more efficient and sustainable mechanical system while the building was kept in full operation.

209 Prospect Place – Brownstone Renovation – New York, New York

Providing Owners Representation (OR) for the Brownstone renovation projects, Laland Baptiste’s roles include, but are not limited to, providing oversight and coordination of the project from the owner’s perspective, acting as an extension of the owner and solely representing the owner’s interests, independent of the design professionals and general contractor. We provide an overview of and make recommendations on design and scope, as well as on contract matters, budget adjustments, proposed changes, schedule changes, time extensions and resolution of problems or questions that arise.

Battery Park City Pier A – New York, New York

“Pier A” is a historic, three-story, 39,000 square-foot pier structure.  The “Pier A” building, constructed in 1886 and formerly used by the New York Harbor Police, underwent a major makeover to be transformed into the “Pier A” Harbor House. The Harbor House, measuring a total of 28,000 square feet, has three floors of bars, restaurants, and a catering hall. It also holds a visitor’s center and a coffeehouse. Assistant project management and office engineering services were provided. This project included a copper roof and is a LEED Silver candidate.

Borough of Manhattan Community College – New York, New York

This project included the roof replacement at Borough of Manhattan Community College. Work included the removal and replacement of the existing roofing system, drain replacement, structural steel installation, flashing replacement and railing installation. Office Engineering services were provided.

Christ Fellowship Baptist Church – Brooklyn, New York

Due to a structural connection that failed, immediate Owners’ Representation & Construction Management services were provided for the stabilization of the church steeple.

John Jay College – New York, New York

The “Backfill Renovation Project” at John Jay College encompasses approximately 55,000 square feet of interior space and the removal and replacement of approximately ten mechanical rooms. This project also includes the extension of two chilled water main lines that branch off and connect to new mechanical units. The work of this project consists of an extensive amount of MEP, Structural, and Architectural work of which has been carefully coordinated in the field. Office Engineering and Site Representation services have been provided.

NYC Build It Back – Brooklyn, New York

NYC Build It Back (BIB) is a program in New York City’s five boroughs that assists homeowners, landlords and tenants whose primary homes were damaged by Hurricane Sandy. It is funded by the Federal Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) bill passed by the United States Congress. The goal of NYC Build It Back is to help affected residents return to safe, sustainable housing by addressing unmet housing recovery needs. Cost estimation of damages, procurement, program advisement and hiring plan management and inspection services have been provided.

NYC SCA / Emergency Management Program – 5 Boroughs of New York

In an effort to restore and rebuild the damages created by Hurricane Sandy, the New York City School Construction Authority developed a program to address the concerns of the City’s Public Schools. The scope of work includes: environmental remediation, mechanical replacements and upgrades, structural remediation, storm mitigation, facade replacement and interior/exterior renovations. Site representation, project management and inspections are provided for many of the NYC Public Schools throughout the five boroughs have been provided.

Roberto Clemente State Park Bulkhead Replacement – New York, New York

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) proposed improvements within an approximately 16-acre portion of Roberto Clemente State Park (project site), located on the eastern shore of the Harlem River just north of West Tremont Avenue and west of the Major Deegan Expressway in the Bronx, New York. Improvements include replacement of the existing sheet pile bulkhead that is in critical condition and reconstruction of the adjacent esplanade; creation of a tidal/intertidal habitat from uplands as part of the bulkhead replacement. Construction management services have been provided.

Recreate NY Smart Home Program – Mineola, New York and Farmingdale, New York

This Program was implemented to address residential and small business properties that were affected by Superstorm Sandy, Hurricane Irene or Tropical Storm Lee. The scope of the Program includes home repairs/rehabilitation, mitigation/elevation and/or buyouts. As part of the Master Construction Management Team, financial analyses, technical advisement, data analysis and document control services have been provided throughout all phases of the Program. These phases include, damage assessments/inspections, design, construction, closeout and turnover.
