Laland Baptiste provided construction management and engineering services for the Christ Fellowship Baptist Church, also known as “The Blue Church of Brooklyn,” for a project to replace a structural connection that failed. We provided immediate owners’ representation and construction management services to stabilize the church steeple. The firm stepped in quickly to work with the church, the New York City Department of Buildings, and the construction contractor to ensure that the church steeple was quickly and adequately stabilized. In addition, we coordinated with the structural engineer and NYC DOB to gather reports and information requested by DOB to prevent any further violation/enforcement from NYC DOB.
This construction management assignment was a quick response project. Because of the potential risk to public safety, the client required immediate assistance from an experienced construction manager. Laland Baptiste immediately coordinated with the structural engineer, general contractor, scaffolding contractor and the Department of Buildings to ensure the repair and stabilization of the church steeple.
