Hofstra’s chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the professional engineering fraternity Theta Tau, and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) – recently hosted the 2nd annual Black Engineers Panel to support the aspirations of students of color interested in pursuing careers in engineering.
Schillivia Baptiste got to share the importance of the industry with an audience ranging from middle schoolers to college students, and their parents and advisors. The Q&A session after the panel discussion reinforced the bright future for the Engineering Industry.

Attendees heard from several agencies including the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC), The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, and The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ).
